In addition to our competitions, our team also participates in a variety of community events. We hope to cultivate a passion for STEAM within our local communities, and actively seek opportunities to spread the joys of robotics to young minds. Our outreach endeavors include mentorship, volunteer work, and interactive demonstrations of our robot. We have assisted at local elementary and middle schools, as well as running events in our own high school.
What is LIFT?
Starting this year, the Scarsdale Robo Raiders have begun a new hands-on educational program to teach all children about important topics in STEM. Every other month, we launch a new introductory course personalized for audiences aged 10 and up. Through this initiative, we aimed to develop an informed and confident new generation of STEM leaders through relevant courses that challenge the mind. So far, we've contacted and collaborated with numerous different educational institutions, such as public libraries, across Westchester County. If you're interested in being a part of this program as well, please feel free to contact us at contact@scarsdalerobotics.com.
Quantum Computing
Can a marble be both red and blue at the same time?
Can a fruit be both an apple and an orange?
Well, if you are a quantum computer, yes they can! Quantum computers feel like science fiction, but they’re closer than you think. Curious to explore the strangeness of this rapidly emerging field?
Quantum computing is a rapidly evolving field with the potential to completely transform areas like cryptography and AI. This course covers core concepts in quantum computing - such as bits vs qubits, superposition, and entanglement - while exploring their real world application and underlying theory.
We've already hosted this course at the following institutions:
11/19: Bronxville Public Library
1/13: Greenburgh Public Library
4/13: Dobbs Ferry Public Library

Wind Power
In a world where renewable energy sources continue to dominate the discussion on climate change, wind power and wind turbines have played a crucial role in decreasing fossil fuel dependency. This course covers the why behind wind power, how wind turbines work, and how to make a wind turbine yourself. Participants will use materials like
